Sorry about the last post - minimilism is where it's at!
I've just put a new M/B in,(Jetway 663as ultra + athlon 1.100 CPU). All is NEARLY ok! However, I am having a few hangups, system freezes and other little messages that tell me all is not well. For instance-I cannot re install McAfee Virus scan, as I get a message saying that the install wizard has been "interupted"!! When I try to play games I get un-called for crashes to windows(?Huh?) I think that the stick of 128MB ram that was left over from my last M/B is 66Mhz. Could this be an issue? As I recall - the BIOS settings only go down to 100Mhz, but the gur in the shop said it should be OK. God it would be good if Manuals had clear instructions in them - As I can see from the posts, many folks are "doing it themselves", and I did feel chuffed when I got the thing going. BUT I am now seriously downhearted after 3 days of trying to get this ******* going properly.
Rest of the system is fairly bog-standard and recently purchased. Would love to hear somebodies opinion.

The specifications I found shows that the board only supports 100 and 133 MHz memory bus speeds, so you need faster RAM if yours is rated at 66 MHz.

Cheers for your swift reply - I am fairly sure that the ram is 66mhz, as it is over 2 years old -DOH! I shall get some 133 ram asap as they seem to be giving the stuff away these days (when I last upgraded 2 yrs ago I was quoted 230 pounds sterling for a stick of 256 ram!!!

That was about $333 U.S. at today's rate. What does it cost you now?
