I gave a friend my old Tyan 1590 board and AMD 500 processor to replace his
old Pentium 100 processor and board. He had a CD burner installed in the old system and it worked ok. Since putting in my board and processor we are unable to load the software. We get the following message; "Install wizard was unable to complete the installation, your system has not been modified". Any ideas what this might mean? Current system is running Win98 SE, 500mhz AMD, Tyan 1590 board, 256 pc100 ram and 10gb hardrive. Thanks

Did you save your important data and reload Windoze?

When replacing a Motherboard there are workarounds for an operating system configured to the old board. However, the "safe bet" would be to reformat and load the OS allowing it a clean slate to configure to the new Motherboard...
