could you please give the specifications of the new pc, also is the cd-rom/dvd external? the unit must be cd/dvd to show movies also maybe the system is under pressure to work the unit.

have a good day

Drives generate heat and too much heat can indicate a problem or simply that the system is too hot. As Dougie Quinn said, tell us more so we can try to figure out what is happening. In particular, how fast is this drive and is it a DVD?

Many DVD drives tend to get "hot" when watching an entire Movie.....Just how hot we're talking here I don't know. May or may not be a serious problem.

Certainly don't want to be frying eggs or (DVD's), but "warm" to the touch after a whole Movie isn't all that unusual...Depending on the drive. Some run hotter than others.
(The same is true of Movies) :p
