My PC does not wake up after it has been on standby for more that one hour.
I recently did a clean install on Win98 and have been re-loading up my programs. I have noticed that the problem came up after I re-installed Quicken 2K. I have tried to change and configure the power setting to the Home/Desktop and have my monitor and HD shut off at 15 and 30 minutes respectively. However it just does not wake up and I have to press reset.
Another thing is my start-up. I have tried to remove the Task Scheduler through its menu but I do not see it ubder the startup tab in msconfig. It keeps showing up every time the computer restarts.
Is it also safe to remove the several items that begin w/ ATI in the startup tab? I have an Athlon 1.2 Ghz, SB live (SB16 disabled) and an AIW pro(PCI)on a A7M266 MB. I am waiting for the opportune time to buy a GF3 card.
thanks for the input,
Peter
