I have no communicatins with my keyboard once system is booted up to password screen. I can't type anything in. How can I fix this?:confused:

A bit more information would be helpful...

Is this a USB or PS2 keyboard?

Are you getting any error messages? Have you tried the keyboard on another computer?

If the keyboard is not a USB you would NOT want to plug/unplug while there is power to the computer...chances of improper insertion could fry the socket...

Try booting into Safe Mode and see if you get any further, this will give us a better idea of whether it is a software or hardware problem...

Also, are you talking about a BIOS password or Windoze password???
