of later i have to replace my modem and dealer put in a USRobotics 56K voice host internal modem, but beenin a win modem i think it has tohave HSH modem genice PCI modem enumerator

now my modem diapaear on mme for no reasdon, it tell me it working, but when i try to use it it does not work,
i like to know why

Suggest you complain to the dealer first. If that doesn't help then try www.usr.com/support. Also check the documentation that came with the modem. It should give a toll free number for support of NEW purchases. I have used it and found the people very qualified and helpful.

all ready try USR support, and found out my model is a OEM model, not a retail ver, ther give no support to it
beware of OEM ther the same as retail but co give no support to them

Back to the dealer i reckon. Especially as they chose to sell you an OEM unit!

If its out of guarantee then get the drivers yourself (dont suppose you got a driver disk) & have a go deinstalling & reinstalling it.

You could try reinstalling the modem. However, if you just had the modem put in by a company, take it back and insist on a regular modem not a winmodem. If they give you any flack tell them you need your puter up and running now so you can get back on your survivalist newsgroups. : )
