I hope someone can help me!

For some reason my mouse has been acting all funny recently, like jumping around suddenly (the curser that is!) or freezing for a second or two and then my CPU gives a beep!

Is it time for a new mouse or what's going on here?

I virus and Spy check every day btw, so it's not that!

First is there any ryme or pattern to the freezing?
what are the patterns of the beeps?
did you check the device manager to see if you have any conflicts?
check to see if your mouse is sharing an IRQ or COM mice don't like to share either....

Try another mouse and see if it fixes the problem.

What sort of mouse? USB / PS2?... cordless?

I had a similar problem with my cordless one & it took me hours to work out it was just the batteries!! <I was having one of THOSE days... >

Also, if it is a cordless mouse, it can be due to other electronic equipment near the transmitter. Try moving the transmitter and see if it make a difference.

If it is an old fashioned ball type mouse, have you cleaned the ball and mouse lately???

What Operating System are you running and what brand name and type of mouse are you using?
