Good Morning:
I need to transfer all the data from one system to another. Both computers are IBMs; however, different models.
I was thinking of using Ghost to image the drive on the first PC and then restoring the image on the target PC. Since the systems are not identical, will this work?

Are you trying to copy operating system, programs and data - or just data?
If you are trying to clone the boot drive with its OS on one computer to be able to boot the second computer, it probably won't work (different drivers for the different devices on second computer). You could try but it usually doesn't work.
If you just want to copy data, just copy it to whatever media (floppy, CD-R, etc.) and paste it to the other computer. Or set up a LAN and transfer the data.
Ghost is used to backup a hard disk and to reinstall the total contents of the disk if there is a catastrophic accident with the hard drive - dor to copy OS and programs to another system with the same hardware.

Thanks for your input.
I was able to copy the data files across to the new system and am in the process of installing the programs.
