The Duron is a completely different CPU from the Athlon. The AthlonXP is technically different from the Athlon, but because it's their flagship CPU, it still carries the Athlon name (like Intel has done with Pentium). The Duron was AMD's cheapie CPU and is no longer made.
Your mobo uses the SiS 735 chipset, and can go up to the 266MHz FSB. So, that means the maximum CPU is the AthlonXP 2400+, which runs at 2GHz. That should give you a nice speed boost and is only $84 (retail) on Newegg right now. Just be sure you use at least DDR266/PC2100 RAM to take advantage of the added FSB speed.

The 2600XP is the maximum supported processor according to the manufacturer website.

Yes indeed, but andre79 would first have to locate a 266 FSB version of the 2600+. Good luck with that!
After the 2600+ was made, an updated 333MHz FSB version was made, and oddly enough, that's mostly what you'll find today. I'm guessing AMD only made a select few of the 266 versions before deciding that only 333 versions would be made.
