I've a system running on windows 98. I changed the display to a higher resolution which my system can't support. My problem now is my screen will turn blank whenever I boot up my system. Guide me how should I set it back to original
Thanks
Boot up your system in safe mode ( Press F8) while booting.
Select boot in safe mode.
Then change your display properties using the same method you did before.

Hi Joel and Welcome,
If you have made the changes in the last five days, you can try the following: Boot up and hold down the Ctrl key constantly while booting. Eventually, you will be given a startup screen with several different choices. Choose the "Command Prompt Only" listing. Let it continue to boot and you will be presented with the C:\ prompt. At the prompt, type:
Scanreg_/restore
Use a space in place of the underscore. You will be presented with a listing of the last five days of saved registries. Choose one with a date that's before the date you made the changes. Choose to restore that registry. Follow the onscreen instructions to reboot. You should be back to the point where you were before you made the changes.
Post back if further problems.
Good luck.
