I was at the seagate site downloaded their HDD utility and all there was were scans. I picked up a 10 gig HDD out of a trash computer and would like to zero the thing out. Anyone have an idea what I can use? Did I miss something at their site? Maybe there is a third party utility I could use?

THIS (http://www.seagate.com/support/seatools/B7b.html) might be what you are looking for.

SeaTools Enterprise Edition seems to include "Formatting Options" which may include zerofill.

Thanks but that's not it. It's not for a floppy. They are tools that you have to load on with your OS.

Found it. DiscWizard Starter Edition (http://www.seagate.com/support/kb/disc/howto/use_dwse.html) has the option to zerofill the drive.

How to use it. (http://www.seagate.com/support/kb/disc/faq/ata_llfmt_what.html)

WipeOut (http://www.lurkhere.com/~nicefiles/index.html) should do it in a jiff for you.
