Its me again! Well I finally got my system to read the hard drive on autodetect, but it will not autodect my CD. I can't even get the system to boot from the cd so i can formatt a 2nd harddrive. I don't understand what is wrong. cause when i go into device manager it says that my cd is working properly. It is also identfied at post. However, when I go to install a game, it would install but I cannot access the actual game the computer locks up and i have to shut down and reboot again. Can any one help?!

Thanks a lot to thosse of you who helped me out with the other problem.
PS. I have my harddrive set to master and the Cd set to slave, both are on the same cable.

Did you try the problem solving suggested in your previous thread??? If you haven't already, that would be the place to start.

I would try the CD drive on the secondary IDE channel to see if it will work when set to Master. Also, it may be worthwhile to test it in another system to make sure it isn't simply dead.

It might be helpful for you to post more details about the history of this system and how you got to the point that you are at now. More details about the components and how old they are would be helpful too....
