Ok..I'm totally lost on this one. I've got a Mainboard mother board with a 1000mhz Athlon. The bus has 2 jumper settings 100mhz and 133mhz. When jumper is set at 100 the system reads as a 775mhz processor. When set to 133 it reads correctly at 1000mhz..but, some programs don't work correctly and when connecting to online gaming servers my files aren't compatable with the ones on the server. If I switch the bus back down to 100 everything works fine.

What the heck is going on????

HELP

thanks in advance

Welcome Graham....

It's apparant that you have a C model CPU. As you are getting a correct processor reading of 1000Mhz with a FSB setting of 133. With a default CPU multiplier of 7.75 and a FSB of 133 = 1000.

With a FSB of 133 you will need quality RAM. Most of the generic RAM just can't handle the bus speed.

Also, your Video, etc. will need to be able to handle 133. As most will.

Have you went into BIOS and checked the settings for the RAM?

Luck.
