Hi.
After inserting an ISA SMC EtherEZ network adapter into my Pentium 75's motherboard, the PC would not turn on. I heard the hard disks whirr up, but nothing on the screen.
I took out the card, and it all worked fine. The same network card works fine in my other PC.
Is it incompatible? Will I need to buy a new PCI netcard instead?

Thanks for your help.

Without the card installed, check Device Manager for a free IRQ. NIC cards tend to like 10 I think. Highlight Computer and click Properties, that gives you an IRQ list. Check the documentation for the NIC, see if it has jumpers to set it on another IRQ. If so, set it to a free IRQ. Also try moving it to another slot.
