Hey Guys,

I am building only my 2nd computer and I am having problems with the motherboard. It is an intel 810E with a 900 Mhz P3 and 256 Mb of Ram. The light on the motherboard is on and the Processor fan is spinning but I cannot get any lights to work, Hard drive to spin, beeps, nothing... Also the on switch will work to turn it on but will not cut it off.

Thanks for the help

First off to cut it off hold the power button down until it powers down. try a different video card if you have one. Make sure the ram is in tightly too.

The 810e has onboard video...check to make sure the disable on board video jumper is correct...either for allowing it to be used or in the disabled position if you try a different card.

Also how many DIMM slots do you have? Some 810s only like 128MB per slot others can take the 256 sticks.

Check for shorts, try the board outside the case...connected to power but sitting on something non-conductive, like cardboard.

remove power shoket of all the drive.and start the computer, if it is booted then plug power shoket one by one, if there is any drive is defective it may creat problem. If you wan't bootup there may be a chance of defective RAM or your mainboard not support the 256mb RAM.try 128 on it.
