When I start my computer, it tells me that: Windows encountered an error accessing the system registry. It then tells me to restart the computer and windows will fix the problem. Then after it boots up, it asks me to restrt the computer again. Any idea how to help get rid of this. It is annoying and time consuming. Thanks

Welcome to the forum:

I think that Windows has become corrupted.

Please post the specs of your machine.

Did you install any new hardware or software recently?

Do you have anti-virus software?

Are the definitions up to date?

Do you have a Windows\Options\Cabs Folder?

If you do , you can boot with a floppy, go to the windows\options\cabs directory and re-install Windows "in place" right on top of the setup you have now.

Hey,

Ok, you can try this, but no guarantees: Hold down the Ctrl key while it's booting up. A startup menu should appear. Choose to boot with "Command Prompt Only". Let it boot to the C:\ prompt. Once there, type:

Scanreg /fix.

Hopefully, that will fix the registry. Reboot the computer and post back with what happens.

Good luck.
