can anyone tell me how to unistall directx

im trying to get the AGP Texture Acceleration enabled and it seems that directx 9.0b is the problem and that installing 8.1 would let me enable this

any help much appreciated.

If your running XP I don't think you can uninstall it but need to go to a restore point.

The download from the link provided by John0904 is directx eradicator, which supports winxp and directx 9 and you can uninstall dx9, but be aware that it is a beta program.

In addition " You should always "restore" the shipping version of DirectX from the windows setup cdrom -- regardless of whether or not you choose to install a newer version. In doing so, will protect the system against missing files and other configuration errors..."

See if there are upgraded drivers for your video card.....you don't really want to roll back to 8.1 for security reasons.
