Can anybody explain to me how to record a Vinyl LP onto my hard drive so I can burn it onto CD. I am using Windows xp

First you will need the wire to go from your stereo to the sound card (many sound cards have a stero mini-plug input so you will need to convert from the RCA cables to the mini), then you will need a rcording program..ripping app.

MusicMatch Jukebox has been recommended in the past. There are others...

Then it is a matter of hooking things up and running the program to capture the song...and of course playing around with the program to get it to start/stop correctly.

If you have lots of space recording the songs as .wav files will give the best quality.
