I'm dual booting Win2k\98
Amd k6
163mb ram
Via Apollo chipset mvp3\via vt82c586b\via vt82c598mvp
My problem is this:Stop error 0x000 0001e VMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDELD NTOSKRNL The way this happend is I tried to instal an Acer cd\rw no my system and I received the stop error. And even when I try to put back the regular Cd rom I still get error, so the only way htis machine runs is without the cd roms. Can some one walk me through the steps to solving this problem

Did you untinstall the software for the cdrw completely?
You may need hardware specific software for that type of machine.
I know if it is an IBM or Compaq, you have to be very careful when upgrading or installing.
Go to the web site of your PC and check it out.
