How can I display my desktop on my Pc and Tv at the same time I want to watch some video clips Ive downloaded on my tv. Im just getting windows background with no Icons,when I put the icons on the tv the monitor goes off. Please help

What type/brand of card are you using to plug the computer into the TV?

How have configured the display setup?

Im using a geforce fx5600 through svideo It wont let me have my Tv and monitor as both primary

Check the documentation for your video card
You should find something like MaxDvd or the likes

In my dual display If I want to display a Video to the second monitor
I start the video and then use the shortcut to start MaxDvd
This will force the dvd output to the second screen

For normal dual display I have to use the Extend desktop box in the video card properties
To display all normal system use on both monitors

You should find a number of options for setting up your displays
Like Clone, Maxdvd, multidisplay desktop, and Zoom

Most of these options are available and controlled in the Advanced Options tab under display properties in My Matrox video card
