I got this stranged problem with my CDROM Drive. Everytime I put some cd and check the contents thru windows explorer Im always getting same datas or contents even Im keep on changing the disk in the cd drive. I have tried this also in dos mode and its the same. The bottom line is Im getting error when ever I loaded the second disk. I need to switch off the PC and wait for sometime to normalized the system.

Whats happening is, the info from disk1 is staying in RAM and not clearing on its own. I get this occasionaly too and not sure how to get around it other than reboot.
I'm sure someone else will be along that can explain a fix.

TJay said long ago that it is a "Refresh" kind of problem that shouldn't occur with the newer CDRoms...but. Mine does it all the time, so when I need to search more than one CD for a file, I have to alternate between the RW and the CDRom...for some reason, that works fine. Of course, you either need a second CDRom or a RW..otherwise, the only thing I know to do is reboot.

Whoa, that would be absolutely irritating! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/mad.gif
Is this a known problem with the O/S that you guys/gals are running? I am assuming that it is a software problem?? Hmmmm, there must be an answer to the problem somewhere out there.
AARGH!! Deer Herd Management begins here in MN in a couple of weeks (we must have had a pretty mild winter cause there was a lot of "grilled" deer meat lying alongside the highways). Since I need to site in my 30.06 anyway, and I wouldn't get in trouble with the EPA, I would be happy to "rewrite the firmware" on anyone's CD-ROM drive at 100 yards! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Yoda,
I'm only planning on rewriting the "firmware"... my 3X9 can't read the fine print beyond 100yds...any further and I might wreck something! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
Had to put in about the EPA allowing the venture cause the Twin Cities Mechwars exhibit at the Minnesota State Fair this year got hollered at for attitude adjusting Monitors that had decided not to work anymore.
Anyway, I'd like to research this glitch a bit and see if it's a fairly prevalent problem.
