Ok, I got a...
AMD Athalon(tm) XP 2500+ Processor 1833 mhz 512k
DDR 256 mb Ram
Abit KD7A motherboard
32 m video card
120 gig drive
Ok, the problem is, when I try to install Windows XP Pro, the computer either freezes, finds some error, or goes in a restarting loop till it freezes or finds an error. Ive tried several XP disks, originals, bootlegged, and pirated. None of them work! There always seems to be a corrupt or missing file in the ones that actually boot up. Am I doing anything wrong? I checked BIOS and everything looks in order. Any help would be appreciated...

Did you do clean install or did you do upgrade on existing HDD?
Also this site generally doesn't address pirated stuff, FYI.

I just bought everything yesterday, put it together, and encountered the problem this morning...
So, the hard drive is clean.
Ok, just got this error message when I went to install XP again...

I am guessing you may have installed something nasty on your hard drive or even in your BIOS with the pirated stuff you were using. However, that error did turn up a lot of info on this Google search... (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=TRAP+00000006+%3D%3D%3D%3D%3D%3D%3D%3D%3D%3D%3D+ EXCEPTION+%3D%3D%3D%3D%3D%3D%3D%3D%3D%3D%3D%3D&btnG=Google+Search)

It could possibly be the FSB being set too high because I had trouble installing XP because of that... other than that, like Budfred said, you probably did get something nasty on your system from those pirated disks and may have to flash your BIOS or something.

COSniper,
At what point in the install do you get that error message?

dear friend,
i think you are having problem with the hard disk..first go to BIOS then change the first bootalble from floppy..then ..boot through the floppy ..type fdisk in command prompt..clear all the files and partion in the hard disk then ...make partion as c: , d: and all ...make c: partion atleast 5 Gb this will be nice.
then exit..
go to command prompt..type e: for to go to cd-drive.. in command prompt type dir /s setup.exe
it will give you the location or type simply setup.exe
it will start the installation..i think this will work...
bye ..if this is not working mail me
