I changed the power supply in my Pc ... as the old one, upon close examination ... seemed to have burned out.(i have opened it and checked)
At this point .... when I hook up the new unit to the mother board .... the fans go on,.... but when I hook up the rest of the peripherals .... nothing works ?? (not even the fans)

Please Help

Welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif

Assuming that you have your connections all right (triple check), it is possible that your power supply took some other components with it when it died, including the possibility of the motherboard going bad...

You might want to start with just Video and RAM...

If you can't get POST then I'm afraid Budfred might be correct in in assessment...and they went to Neverland :(

Thanks for all the help ....
I have isolated the problem to a burned out hard drive. Thus, it seems that the power shortage from the power supply fried the hard drive.

Thank You all.
Peter.
