hello again...have installed 2k pro and have removed my slightly different 256mb ram chip as it was still slightly flaky with photoshop... and now my scanner won't start. I have uninstalled and reistalled both the hardware and the software seperately and together... it is a visioneer 4400 and according to the disk should run on 2k pro.. I can get as far as the scan/preview screen but when I try to Twain the system hangs and the thing stops responding... any clues???? 2k pro is different enough so that I am not so sure about fiddling with the thing to get it working.

Good question monster, i had the same problems with my hp scanner, it would just hang and would stop responding , it made me very irrate. So im sure it made you mad to. Another solution is to update your 2k with a service pack preferably sp2, this should resolve your problem also. Just read the instrctions and go from there. http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/default.asp
