I hope I'm in the right place? If so, it's about attempting to use Supermode cam feature in Yahoo. All I seem to get is a auto responder Yahoo customer service bot so I'll try here. Messenger Webcam feature required that a firewall must permit incoming and outgoing TCP connections on port 5100, I turned off both my XP home firewall and zone alarm and the feature still doesn't work. The question I have is where do I go to access port 5100 to see if I have permited incoming and outoing connection on the particular port?

If you have no firewall and software calls for a specific port number, is is wide open.

NO firewall means basically no protection,or ports even being closed ( with windows having a number of default services running that will blindly obey a request to open a port you are wide open to all manner of nasties by running without a firewall). If of course there is no software running that requires a particular port it will be closed...

If it doesn't work without a firewall then the problem is not the firewall.

Thanks mjc, perhaps the webcam isn't suitable for the purpose, or it's just Yahell I mean Yahoo :)
