I am running widows 98 and experiencing problems shutting down my computer.
I have tryed checking if sound files are causing the problem and if the (APM)is causing it, but having no joy.
any ideas? thanks andy

Welcome to Pc Guide,
could be conflicting device drivers,check the device mgr.could be exit sound file, hardware not configured right.Have you down loaded any thing latley? if you have unin stall it and go from there?
just for the fun of it go into safe mode and shut down that way
if it does not shut down properly there there may be a problem between windows and BIOS. post back and let us know if any of this works if not we'll try something else.OK

THis is a known problem with Win98. You can get a patch from MS to fix it. If you go to MS KB look for Win98 Shut down
