I'm not getting any sound when I play video clips taken with my digital camera. The system plays CD's OK and Windows makes all the right noises. I installed the drivers from the motherboard disk not the Windows drivers. I'm also getting a TAPI error ????!!!! on start-up, is this related? Thanks.

Hello and welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif forums!
First, the dumb questions: Are you sure your camera records sound? If so, is the sound capture enabled/mic un-muted on your camera?
What format does your camera save the video files to (avi, mpeg/mpg, etc.)? Can you play other video files of this type and get sound?
I’m not sure about the TAPI error, but if it is an “ATAPI” error, it relates to your CD/DVD-ROM/R/RW/whatever-you-have drive. I doubt it’s related at all to your sound problem, but it is a problem nonetheless. Can you give some specifics on the error? Wording of the error message, and when exactly it appears during startup would be helpful.
