Thanks

Some more system specs...
What card, drivers version, what kind of card...etc?
Some info about your system in general, too.
What version of Windows, what version of DirectX...etc?

I had some problems with the same card and dx8, locking out and not running dx8, it was suggested that rater than always upgrading the drivers that soetimes the earlier ones do work better so I changed back to 4.12.01.0532 and hey presto all was ok... shows 31.5mb dx8

Look around www.microsoft.com (http://www.microsoft.com) for dx 7 or 8, if that is the problem, but more specs are needed, motherboard, graphics card model, processer?
