Hey, My parents have a 1998 Compaq Presario 5150 computer with Windows 98 that has only two USB 1.1 connectors. I was wondering if there was some kind of update that can bring that speed up to 2.0 because the wireless internet card is hooked up to there and I figured that is probably the internet speed bottleneck. I am trying to avoid having to buy the PCI card beacuse we live in a small where it would have to be shipped and go through that whole mess. Well Thanks :)

I believe you have two choices: a new motherboard or that PCI card...

No software upgrade will do it. On another forum post, I saw the fella had trouble with a USB 2.0 PCI card. From what I've looked at, your going to have to be real picky about the card you buy. Make sure WIN98 is supported. Look here for adapters that will work.
