I have an Antec full-tower case model is SX1040BII. I'm currently looking at buying round IDE cables to help with airflow but don't know which size to get?
Thanx for any suggestions.

Ok, I have 3 choices, 18",24" and 36". I doubt that I need the 36" because that seems kinda long. So it's between 18 or 24. Which should I get?
Thanx and happy 2k4.

Get a long for the CD and a short for that HDD. I got long for both but didn't need all that going to the HDD. A shorter one would of been much better. I have a full tower Antec also. 1 18" and 1 24".

Thanx for the reply. Now is brand name cable better than generic ones? I can get 2 Vantec's round cables(18") for $5+$8=$13 ship or 2 generic round IDE cables(18") for $8 ship. Which is a better investment overall?
Thanx again:p

Cables are one of the things where having the brand name may really be worth the extra $$$$

I have cheapo generic round cables that have worked great so far. However, a friend of mine has the same kind of cables and he’s already linked them to lots of problems he’s been having with his drives. I figure it's just a matter of time before mine give out. Get good cables so you don't have to worry about them... much.

Some cheap cables are actually just flat cables that they rolled and put in a plastic sleeve. If they were not built as round cables to begin with, they are far more prone to problems....
