View Full Version : got Abit KG7RAID and AMD XP 1800 1.5ghz, how do i get it to boot?

i found out on Abit's website that i need to update my BIOS, now how am i going to do that if i can't boot up at all. i don't have another AMD Cpu to boot with. so how can i update my bios??

Use the system you used to send the above message.
Got to the web site and Download the flash and bios update.
Copy them to a boot disk and use that disk to boot the system.
Flash the bios .
If you are unable to boot the system with the new cpu installed.
Try setting the cpu settings on the mother board.
Using a near match.
Even if it only boots in safe/protected default (700 or 750mhz) at least you can get it up to flash it.
If you can get into the bios then it to a speed that uses the correct multiplier and the default speed.
7.5x100=750 or the like
