Appreciate some help:

I used to have no problem playing Single/Multiplayer Call of Duty before (P4 2.0Ghz WinXP with ATI Radeon 9200 128MB). But after re-installing WinXP, there are some lags to are happening almost every minute. The video card can certainly handle to optimum settings but the lags (or choppiness) are getting too distracting.

Not sure if this is a video card problem but it certainly isn't the connection (cable) since, to my frustration, it's not only in Multiplayer but Single Player campaigns as well.

The graphics and sounds work well so I don't know what else to do.

Please help.

Are you using the same drivers for you graphic card as before? Maybe a new Catalyst driver from ATI will solve your problem.

Also, are all of the video card's acceleration options enabled in 'DirectX Diagnostic Tool', and is its acceleration set to 'Full'?

In reply, I did download the latest ATI catalyst.

In rgds to ski's msg, how do I make sure the video card's acceleration options are enabled in the 'DirectX Diagnostic Tool', and how can I set acceleration to 'Full'?

Thanks!!!

To access the video card's acceleration options in the 'DirectX Diagnostic Tool', go to Start/Run, type dxdiag in the box, click OK, and click the Display tab.

To check if the video card's acceleration is set to Full, right-click on the desktop area, and click Properties/Settings/Advanced/Troubleshoot.
