Hi,
I'm having a problem rebooting my system after installing a new motherboard and processor. System boots without a problem. Games all work without any freeze ups. When I reboot, the system shuts down and tries to restart, but doesn't post. No beeps or anything. The monitor light turns green for a second, then back to yellow. I have to shut the system down for about ten minutes, then it starts up again without any problems. Same thing happens when I shut down and try to start without waiting. I updated to the most recent bios. No change. I'm using a ATI all-in-wonder radeon. I tested the video card in another machine and it seems to be ok. I also tested my system with a weaker video card, and it rebooted without a problem. I suspect maybe a power problem(340 watt enlight ps) Would appreciate any help.
SYSTEM: ECS k7S5A mobo
Athlon xp 1600(1.4gh)
ATI all-in-wonder radeon
256 pc2100 memory
340 watt enlight power supply

Check you BIOS for processor temperature.

I'm running motherboard monitor 5. Temperature averages between 38 and 40 C.

Make sure every thing is plug up ok, check for viruses , updated of course. And if the virus is already on you cpu and you dont have virus protection, your short.Virus will not be found. Also check your powersupply, get a voltmeter, dcv, hook black to black and red to yellow, uplug all drives and turn power on should get around 11 to 13volts.Post back

But i think something not plug in securely though

Thanks for the info. I forgot to mention I'm using two 7200 rpm drives. I don't have a voltmeter, so I'll borrow a power supply from a friend. I think he has a 400 watt ps. I'll post the outcome. Thanks again.
