Here is my problem, Im using a Laptop having NT as an OS.I normally use this for work. I need to log in just to get inside and browse my C: (local drive.) I can log in even with out having LAN connection. Now I just wanted to connect to internet using my personal account thru dial up network. My laptop is having modem. I also manage to connect to my ISP (password verified ) I got a connection. But when I open IE im not able to browse anything. Its saying I don't have internet connection. Im sure that Im having coz the dial up network icon shows my Baud rate. Is there any setting I missed>

You might check your internet options and make sure they're set for dial up instead of LAN

Ok thanks I check now and I'll tell you if it works


After 10 mis:

It works but only in MSN messenger but still I can't browse any web site even Hotmail Im not able to open!!! but its better than before at least I can use the messenger...

You might try these suggestions

-In internet options set security lower.

-If you have or can get an alternate browser try that.

-Goto Control Panel/Add remove programs

goto Internet Explorer/Repair

I'll try that too. I hope that it will not limit my capabilities coz everytime Im changing some setting it always say that. Im not having administrative level to change some setting.. I wish I can bypass that.

I'm not too familiar with NT (I just started using Win 2000 this week) but can you not log on as "administator"?

Yes that's the problem I can't log on as ADMIN since Im not.. I also can't install WIN 2K... it also need ADMIN level
