Hello
I am trying to fix my friends computer.
It is a Pentium 2, Motherboard M770lmrt
With on board 3D pci sound pro. (According to the specs I found on the net)

There is no sound coming out of the speakers when I play a cd.
Under System Properties/PCI Multimedia Audio Device there seems to be a yellow (?)
As I double click that, I am in a window in which, under General tab, there is a statement:
The drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28) Reinstall drivers for this device.

Logically it seems that the driver is missing.
Is that the case? … and if so where might I find corresponding software to fix this problem?
I have tried www.driverguide.com and failed.
Perhaps, I am not looking in the right direction.

Any advice?

in device manager you need to remove the device & let windows find it again, then install the drivers from the original disc (probably m/b disc if onboard sound.) if you do not have this disc do a search for the m/b where the m/b site should have the latest drivers. (hopefully)
