Hi
My power supply went out and a friend of mine helped me put in another one. I had a 320W supply in when it went out.He put in a 340W
and nothing happened. Then he put in a 250W and it worked? I am able to
do things on here but the one thing is my cd rom drive will not open the light blinks but nothing. I used a pin to open it and there is nothing inside then it would not close can someone help me on this.
And can i put in a bigger power supply??

Thank you all for being here for help

John

Are you sure the 340W actually worked before it was installed and do you know what the power ratings on the individual voltage legs are on the 340W supply?

How many devices do you have installed ? If the cdrom wouldnt open or close with the lower rated supply it could be that it was not getting enough juice to function properly.

The maximum current and sometimes the overall power for each voltage leg is usually found on the side or the top of the power supply.
