The floppy dive is not working.
I installed a new floppy drive, changed the cables.
The settings on the BIOS are correct, and message displayed that the system has a floppy drive 1.44 MB.
However, the light on the drive does not light up on starting the system.
The problem indicates that the floppy drive controller on the motherboard has a problem.
How to check the floppy drive controller on the motherboard to rectify this problem?
Please advise.

Does device manager show the floppy drive/controller working? Does the drive light up if you put a disk in? Do you get an error message? What error message do you get?
Need more info.
At this point w/o more info the only thing I could suggest is to try a different power connector from the power supply....

When do you get the message?
Have you tried to boot with a floppy to see if it's the motherboard or the Windows drivers...
Also have you swapped power cords

Try the middle line of the three from ClassicSoftware.
Try to boot to a boot flopp diskette - since the DOS drivers may work when the Windows 32-bit drivers do not.

As a last resort,
Is the ribbon cable on correctly?
have you tried your floppy in a different computer? If the cable is right and the floppy works in a different computer, I think it's time for a new mobo....
