OK first let me start with what i have.

Althon 700
256mb pc100
soundblaster pci128(on the motherboard)
Geforce2
earthlink 10/100 network card

OK now my problem.
I went to my computer the other day to find out that is was off. No one turned it off it did it by itself. I turned it on and it got into windows and then rebooted on it's own. I went to Staples and they said to reinstall windows. So i did still the samething, but now it reboots before and after it gets into windows. I have took out some memory, the network card, tried but memory sticks one at a time. Now the sound i can't take out is there a way to disable it? When it gets into windows i can mess around and about 5 mintues or so it reboots.
Please help i don't want to take to someone and play 40/hour to fix it http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/mad.gif

Hello and welcome to PC Guide!

Are you also receiving any error messages? Random reboots could be symptoms of a few things.

The main potential culprits are heat and RAM. If your heatsink is not being able to dissipate heat it can cause random reboots. In some cases it could be a Power Supply, however, usually when they go they go in one fell swoop! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif

Have you had the system for any length of time...or is it recent?

What Motherboard do you have?

Not to fear, help is on the way! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif
