I recently installed a Memorex BBQ 200 drive and now whenever I turn the computer on I have to run a disc check and get to 88% before the screen freezes with the message that 'windowstemp seteng.exe is crosslinked at 80167'

thats prolly not totally accurate but its as close as I can remember.

Ive uninstalled the drive and removed all the componenets from the program list but the message is still there so I need to skip the disc check.

Actually, you should probably dump the temp file....

General clean up does wonders for some of these kind of errors.

thanks, I'll try that. Although I looked in the temp file and couldnt find anything matching the adress in the error message.

sweet, seems to be sorted. I found a tiny 15Kb text file hiding so I dumped it then restarted. I got a lot of error messages about truncated crosslinks but the disc check ran all the way through.
