I just built a new system with an ASUS A7N8X-X, AMD 2500+, 2x 256 RAM and Antec 350W (SL350). I have a ATI 7000VE AGP card and a SoundBlaster Live! sound card.

The computer takes a very long time to boot and then when windows loads I check ASUS Probe to monitor the board. I get warnings with my power monitor and I am getting readings such as .064 for +12V, .016 for +3.3V, .016 Vcore, and % for +5V.

When I boot to BIOS and check the hardware monitor all the readings are exactly what they should be.

What can be causing this? My power Supply should be sufficient, right?

This is my first build any help would be great.

I'm not familiar with the Software Monitoring you have but those can't possibly be actual voltage readings....The thing wouldn't even be running.

If your Bios shows the Voltages within spec, I would believe that. Maybe there are settings in the Monitoring software that need to be changed or re-assigned?

And yes, I think that Antec should be fine...others will say you need a much bigger one, (and it never hurts), but I have a 300w Antec running one of my older Computers loaded to the hilt and the Voltages are dead on...Runs like a Champ. :p

The slow boot could be too many Programs and services loading at startup....Something that could be worked on depending on your OS.

When I pull my SoundBlaster card out, the power monitors runs normal and windows boots quicker. Could it be a problem with drivers or a BIOS setting I'm overlooking?

Hmmm...that is odd!

Did you disable the onboard sound in the BIOS?

I never did like the ASUS Probe software. I use MBM5 and am most pleased. http://mbm.livewiredev.com/

Yes, I disabled the onboard sound and also removed the onboard drivers. There maybe other drivers that get loaded in when installing the MB so I am going to make sure that their are no drivers under the sound devices before trying the SB Live! again.
