I have an old pentium 166 that has a serial port connector for a keyboard. I plugged in my old serial port keyboard and powered on the machine and got this error:
keyboard error: not present or not functioning
press any key to continue (ha)
When I press a key, the scroll, num, and caps lock lights blink but the computer doesn't react to the keypresses. Apparantly electricity is going to the keyboard, but the computer isn't receiving any signals (faulty connector?). I was going to look for my old ps2 - serial adapter and try using one of my ps2 keyboards but i still haven't found the adaptor.
