Hello all,

I have a Thermaltake Volcano 9 fan for my AMD 2600 Processor. This fan keeps my processor around 50 degrees Celsius, but int he process it sounds like a hair dryer. I used to be able to ignore this sound, but it is now driving me crazy. Does anyone have another type of fan that will keep the system just as cool, but with less noise? Anything would be appreciated.

I Know How you feel I have the same unit in one system with delta 50 fans

Here is One way to do it

Use the above and a slower fan.
IF Your case will allow it to fit..

Panaflo fans are somewhat quieter....

But the shroud and larger fan are like the better solution.

Aside from the fan, I think the Volcano 9 is also contributing to the noise. I'd replace it with a Thermalright ALX-800 and 80mm Panaflo, this setup will cost you ~$30-35. But in return you can get your sanity back and your cpu will be a lot cooler.:D

I rue the day that i purchased that fan. ARe there any other fans that you guys suggest that will not only keep my system quiet...but cool? Likewise, I don't believe that adapter will work or me rick, i already have an 80mm fan on the cooler. I would have had to have a 60mm fan on it in order for me to be able to use that adapter.
