This might not fall in this forum category but that's where it's going for now anyways...
I do not own an ethernet card at the moment. I have TimeWarner Roadrunner cable. My modem is using the USB connection instead of Ethernet to my PC. I noticed my latency is high in starcraft which causes me to "lag out" of the game sometimes, but nearly every game I lag somewhat. I'm wondering if using USB would affect this problem at all. I also have my IntelliMouse on a USB connection. I have a printer and a webcam connected using USB also, but they're not running during gameplay.
I realize that there are most likely bottled-necked nodes from my computer to bNet, but I also do not download things from the web as fast as some of my friends with the same service as me.
Fill me in with your thoughts and ideas please.
Thanks
-Joe
