A friend just gave me her old monitor. I don't really need it for myself (I just got a new one), but I would like to put it on another computer, (not mine). However, it's one of the worst cases of screen burn ever. It's a 19" Dell Trinitron. Is there anyway to get rid of that horrid burn, or is it doomed for all eternity?

Unfortunately, there is no apparent method to remove screen burn.

You know ice-
We consider it sort of a "courteous" thing to do....That is to reply that you found a solution, or at least thank the people that tried to help you before you start an entirely new thread that (on the surface at least) seems to be related.
It may also help someone with a similar problem in the future.

Of course, I'm talking about THIS THREAD (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=29609) :)

If the two threads are completely unrelated, then forgive me...still some "finality" in the older thread would have been nice.

I was of no help at all here, but you're welcome!

Thanks for your thanks. ;)

I was thanking ski more than you, but thanks.

And, the 2 were unrelated. As I said "(I just got a new one)". They are 2 different monitors.

No problem...I realize that.
I was just thanking you for replying to both threads. (And kidding around a little) :p
I must say I'm still curious if the lines you were seeing in the other thread were because it's an Aperture Grill (I figure yes)

And honest ice, I didn't mean to be a pain in the neck here, and I won't bug you anymore...It's just that in some cases (Not so much yours), we've seen a thread go on forever where many people pitched in and tried to help....And never heard from the person who started the original thread ever again.
Can just be a little frustrating that's all. ;)
