On a 98SE machine, previously infected with Sircam but now clean, the error "Windows Registry Checker..encountered an error...assessing the system registry...Windows will repair
and restart" appears on booting. After retstarting, as per the message, all seems OK, but the message reappears on next boot.
Can anyone suggest what to do?
Thanks.
Tony.
Umm...either the backups to the registry are corrupt or you didn't get things as clean as you thought you did...I think a reinstall may be in order.

Restart in MS-Dos and type scanreg/restore.
Is there a copy of the Registry that's dated prior to the virus attack?
If so, select it and see what happens.

It seems to work ok for me without using the space, ranchdog.
