For a year now, I've had erratic behavior with my Logitech Wheel Mouse. I have the newest driver. Nevertheless, whenever I scroll in Internet Explorer, my curser blinks erratically. Even worse, whenever I scroll with the wheel with the curser on the text of a web page, it breaks up the test to where it is unreadable. As I type this post, with every keystroke, the curser blinks. Any help on this?

Hello,

What model number do you have? Is it a cordless, optical etc.?

Aslo , what OS are you currently using?

In the meantime, have you tried to use the Logitech Interactive Support? (http://209.237.47.20/scripts/frameskp.asp?login=1)

The problem with the flashing cursor could be with the video card...if the video card options give you the choice for a hardware cursor, use it and see it that clears up the flashing. using a hardware cursor forces the video card to draw the cursor not the CPU.

Do you have "smooth scrolling" on or off?

Which OS are you using?

In 98 the setting is found under View -> Folder Options -> VIew and scroll down near the bottom of the list and look for "smooth scrolling"

The mouse I use is not cordless nor optical. It's the plain wheel mouse. I'm using Windows 98SE. Unfortunately, I'm still a bit Windows illiterate as a Mac user, so I'm not sure how to find View-Folder Options to check for smooth scrolling. I also am not sure how to find the settings for my video card. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

When you have the folder open, look at the top left of the window>> from left to right is- File>> Edit>> View.

Click View>> click Folder Options. There you are.

for Display Properties:

point to any blank space on your desktop>> right click>> left click Properties from right click context menu.

also- the section you want to post this type question in is Peripheral Troubleshooting.

I got into Display Properties and didn't find smooth scrolling options. I also didn't find any cursor options. When you said "when you have the folder open", what folder were you speaking of? I assume your talking about my Display control panel?

In Windows Explorer (My Computer) up at the top you will see several options File, Edit, View, etc...it is there for folder options or on the start button under Settings.....Folder Options.

Not all video cards offer that option if it isn't there then you don't have it.....
