Yesterday after I installed a NIC on my computer I had an error occuring every time I would practically try doing anything on my computer (open folders, etc).. Although the NIC did not work at the time and after taking it out I still got constant explorer errors. I tried resetting my RAM and all cards in the system and tried uninstalling/reinstalling the NIC and even try my computer without it in, and all I got was that stupid error every time. I gave up and formatted my hard disk and now I'm back to normal while using the NIC. I just wondered exactly what probably happened and how to prevent it in the future...

Thanks
-Joe

NIC's are very temperamental.
Sometimes they give you all kinds of problems and sometimes they run perfectly.
The problems can sometimes be caused by a resource conflict and solved by simply installing the NIC in a different slot.
Removing the NIC from the computer may not solve things if it also was not removed from Device Manager.
