I took the IBM 60 G drive out of my old PC and put it in a COMPUSA external USB kit to use as an external drive. Trouble is I only see 32 G capacity. I've messed with the jumpers, but cannot seem to make any difference no matter how I set them.
The drive is formatted FAST32. I'm trying to get it to work on a PowerSpec 2GHz system running Windows XP with all the upgrades/fixes.
Any help is appreciated.

Was the drive already formatted or did you format before/after installing it in the USB enclosure?
What OS or tool did you use to format it?
XP is only capable of formatting a 32Gig FAT32 partition but should be able to see larger FAT32 partitions that have been formatted with other version or formatting tools.

Thanks for the help.
My memory is a little shaky on details, but I think this IBM drive could have been originally installed in my older PowerSpec 475, which was running a late version of W98 at the time, probably W98 ME, or what ever was the last 98 version. I did an upgrade to Windows XP, but I do not recall whether the drive was installed at that time or earlier. It worked fine when installed and I was able to see the entire 60 G.
Thanks,
Rich Collins
