View Full Version : TV Out
I'm building a new system. Instead of using a monitor, I'll be using our 36" TV. However, with my experience in S-Video out, it doesn't work very well. I've seen computers put out to TV's and have clear, if not clearER outputs to the TV. What would I use for the output? Thanks

The important thing here is 'What sort of TV'?
A regular television has significantly lower resolution than a standard monitor, and any kind of output from the video card will look terrible, and text maybe virtually unreadable.
If its a plasma or hi-def TV then it may make a noticeable difference, but the coonnector you use will depend on what connectors the TV supports.
Yeah. I'm wondering what kind of connection to use. That person I knew's TV was a big screen. I've seen it done in stores on regular non HDTVs. What I'm going to use is a 36" Toshiba non flat, non HDTV CRT TV. It has all the inputs. What should I use though?
One option is to check with the store where you saw the display, and ask what components are in their setup.
It may have been an XGA monitor that you viewed as shown here:
