Hello Nicolas,
Welcome tohttp://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!
Are you talking about hooking up a portable CD player? Or, are you talking about hooking up a CD player designed specifically for computers, usually notated as either an "internal," or "external" CD player?
If you are referencing a portable CD, or in the same vein, a cassette player you would need to look at the back of your computer to the area where your speakers are connected (I'm assuming you have speakers connected) :) and look for a connector that says "line-in."

Just plug a phono to phono wire in one end(the output-headphone on the cass or cd player) and the other end into the input (line in) on your soundcard like whyzman said. this may be different if you have a front paneled audio connection (then its at the front). just a tip. if you are doing this to sample, you might be better off using steinberg wavelab to copy audio tacks from cd's, as this will be supurbly better quality
